Celebrating the small wins

I’m someone who’s always moved fast.

Pink flowers on a green stem against a deep blue background with a glowing blue orb, creating a serene and mystical atmosphere.

Maybe it’s a response to growing up in chaos...constantly bracing for what might come next, always trying to get ahead of the curve. I’ve often rushed through things, skipping over the beauty of doing them slowly and with care. I hold high expectations for myself, and for a long time, that pressure kept me from appreciating the progress I was making.

But I’m learning. Slowing down helps my brain stay focused. It brings me back to center. And with that shift, I’ve started to celebrate the small wins...the things I might have once brushed past.

As an artist, those little wins matter so much.

In May, I reached a personal goal of growing my email list to 50 subscribers. That may seem small to some, but for a growing artist running a small business...it’s a milestone worth celebrating. I also sold two original paintings to people I know in real life supporters who’ve believed in me from the start. It felt deeply meaningful. On top of that, I shipped two canvas prints to someone across the country who connected with my work enough to bring it into their home. That’s a win I’ll hold close.

Now it’s June, and I’ve set a few more goals for myself. They feel doable, and I’m intentionally keeping them realistic. I’ve learned not to set the bar so high that I end up feeling disappointed. My goals this month: sell three original paintings and grow my email list to 80 subscribers.

It’s not just about the numbers...it’s about creating momentum. Goals that I can actually work with and market myself toward, step by step.

Looking at the bigger picture, I have two larger dreams for this year. First, to sell one large painting before the year ends. And second, to find a gallery to represent my work. Those are long-term visions I’m working toward, but I’m giving myself permission not to rush. They’ll come in time, and I believe in my ability to get there.

I’m manifesting. I’m staying grounded. And I’m reminding myself daily: the small wins count. They are what build the foundation for everything bigger.

Here’s to steady growth and quiet celebrations.
