No niching down for my style

When I first began painting, I didn't have a clear vision of what I wanted to create. I experimented and explored what I could do with the skills I already possessed. I had been drawing with pencils and coloring since I was a little girl, and I incorporated much of that expertise into my painting. I used the emotions I was experiencing at the time to express my feelings on canvas. Many of my earlier works featured darker images, abstract faces, and sad women. It was all part of the process. It wasn't until my second year that I truly started to experiment.

At the start of last year, I completed my first large-scale abstract painting. It's something I truly love doing. Abstract art, in particular, offers a sense of freedom. It allows me to immerse myself in my thoughts without any specific image in mind. I work with a limited palette of paint colors, concentrating solely on the process. Even though my abstract pieces never sell, they remain and will always be my favorite style to paint.

Having said that, I adore painting the ocean and flowers. I enjoy creating intricate waves and capturing the sunlight's sparkle on the water. That's when I use oil paints, as this is where my talent truly stands out. I paint beautiful scenes from photographs I've taken or from my passion for flowers and the sea. These are the types of paintings that sell the quickest.

However, I occasionally merge the two by using molding paste, which adds texture and movement.

As an artist, we aren't confined to a single style. People often say to specialize, but my painting style isn't limited to one approach. Abstract art is my personal preference, while my oil paintings cater to my audience. Perhaps one day, I'll discover an audience that appreciates both.
