How to collect an original abstract painting for your home
Before I started painting.. I was a big collector of finding art at thrift stores. Ive always enjoyed having unique art on my walls. It wasnt until I started meeting real life artists was when I started collecting myself.

To me, collecting art is about a feeling. What does that painting make you feel? Is it more about the artist than the art? For me personally it absoulutly is. I find that when I can connect with the artist.. I instanstly need to have a piece of their work. Abstract art for instance is a feeling, its a movement. There is so many differnt forms of absract paintings that you can find one that matches your decor almost instantly.
I am someone who enjoys buying art that has some whimsy in it. So if i find an artist that i like and conncet to ill see the closest painting to that. I think collecting art shouldnt be about what your home looks like although its really up to you. But ti should be about the feeling of coming home to yourself. Do you see yourself in that painting? Is it going to make you smile when you pass it? Does it bring light to a dark corner? Collecting art is sacred and should be done when you truly find the artist that makes you feel.
Collecting can be done at any price point. I for one collect [paintings under $300 bucks because thats what i can afford. And i get to collect more ar tbecuase of that. Theres no real way to collect. It can be for whatever reason you need it. I say start small and work your way up. And just start because collecting from a real artist is better than finding your art at target ( dont do that)
