What reclamation means in my work (and how I incorporate it into my paintings)
Reclamation refers to restoring something to its previous or improved condition, or recovering something that was lost or stolen.

Initially, I believed my purpose was tied to sadness, and I often expressed the darkness from my past through my art when I began sharing it online. I wanted to understand what made this process more positive. It was about reclaiming my identity, letting go of who I was, and learning to love myself more. My new work focuses on that reclamation.
Delving into the aspects of healing that are positive and beautiful. Employing pastels and symbols such as butterflies and childlike skies to emphasize that my inner child is healing through her art, through sobriety, and by genuinely accepting herself as she is.
I've been painting more flowers and blue skies, with pink being a central theme in these abstract works. There's a beauty in letting go, reclaiming your soul, and loving yourself, and I aim to share more of that with the world through my art. Healing can be beautiful and can reveal parts of yourself you never knew, and I want my art to inspire someone to persevere, to reclaim themselves, no matter how long it takes.
